A Vomit Comet?
This video, one hour in length, is a wonderfully entertaining and educational
space science program for students of all ages. Even adults will find it
fascinating. While the science is at middle and high school levels, the
information on living and working in space is suitable for elementary school
students. Using spectacular NASA video and easy-to-understand dialogue,
Mullane will cover everything from physics to physiology; from space toilets
to…well…to the perils of weightless barf. Mullane delivers space
science in a way that captivates and ignites a child’s imagination.
The last approximately 15 minutes of this video includes Countdown To A Dream, a motivational program in which Mullane uses his life story to excite young people on the potential of their own lives. With photos and insights from his youth, Mullane shows how “normal” he was. He wasn’t academically gifted. He wasn’t a star athlete. He wasn’t popular. But he achieved a significant lifelong dream. The message is…you don’t have to be a super-kid to achieve great things, but you do have to practice these fundamentals of dream-building every day of your life:
